Roxanne Monroe grew up in an anything but normal life within the city that never sleeps: New York. She is the oldest of the three onroe children and because of that she tends to have a mothering nature aout her, which tends to come natural since she had taken on that role with her siblings at an early age. When Roxi, as she prefers to be called, was five she was signed on as a child model taking contracts. It had been her mother’s idea and though her father wasn’t exactly pleased with having his daughter exploited like that he went along to keep his wife happy. Sure it was nice to have money, and everything else that the money could buy, but Roxi just wasn’t happy. She wanted to grow up like the rest of the kids in her neighborhood .
About the same time that she took a hiatus from the modeling world, things were changing with her family. It had already xpanded with her siblings, but that didn’t top her mother from taking in her aunt and cousin. While things between Roxi and Tyler didn’t exactly get along at first the more time they spent together she adopted him as another sibling (one that she tends to fuss over a lot).
After a somewhat normal life, Roxi graduated high school with no idea what she wanted to do with her life. College would have been the logical choice and she could have done anything. A doctor, lawyer, even a teacher if she wanted. But, by chance she had gotten stopped in Macy’s one day and asked to model their upcoming line. It was exciting and soething that she was familiar with. How could she turn down the chance? Since then you can spot her in numerous ads from something simple to The Gap all the way to Victoria’s Secret.
Her biggest taste of fame came though was when she was asked to make an appearance in the video for that one song that seemed to take over the airwaves when it was released: I Kissed a Girl. A friendship between herself and the songstress, Val Canye, had started then and still carries on until this day. Nowadays though, you can find Roxi working out things with her own band as they’re getting ready to release their album sometime next year.
